JOB DESCRIPTION

We work broadly with planning, and as an Urban Planner, you will take on the role of project manager in detailed planning processes. As an urban planner, you will work both independently and with project groups where several of the municipality's departments are represented. In Åre Municipality, there is a great variety in the size and complexity of projects, making the job diverse and developing.

You will work on exciting and challenging tasks that include early sketch phases, vision work, structural studies, program work, and detailed planning. As an urban planner, you can also participate in project groups for the municipality's comprehensive and strategic planning.

You will also participate in internal quality and development processes, both in your own department and in the community building service administration at large. The planning department consists of five urban planners, one municipal architect, and one planning coordinator. We have different competencies, backgrounds, and experiences within the department and see it as a given to work together to solve problems and develop.

QUALIFICATIONS

• You have a degree as a planning architect, urban planner, or other equivalent education.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in detailed planning and are used to independently driving complex planning projects.
• You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, and other relevant legislation governing municipal planning.
• You are communicative and have a professional approach in contact with both internal and external actors.
• You should be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, as the work involves writing and quality assuring various materials and documents.

Meritorious are:

• Knowledge in Focus detailed planning, Plan Direct, GIS, and Adobe Suite (InDesign and Illustrator)
• Experience working in a politically governed organization.
